Welcome to a new “normal.” If you are like me, not being able to shake hands when greeting someone or even give a hug is still awkward and uncomfortable. I look forward to the day where I can greet someone the “proper” way again.
As the times have changed on how we all conduct business, the need for what we do is still the same. The uncertainty of the stock market, the fear of death or not being able to work, or for the less fortunate, not knowing if they will have a job again has provided many anxieties. It has been a blessing to call people and talk about life and a lot of times, talk them into comfort. My hope is that you have embraced the change and your business is still growing and you are having the same, if not more, of an impact on people’s lives as before.
Even though we have not been able to meet locally in the last two months, NAIFA-California is still growing. People still find the value of what NAIFA does and how they protect our businesses. We will be co-hosting a virtual event with renowned speaker Mike Robbins on June 12. Your board has been working diligently to put the next monthly meeting together and keep the Financial Summit intact. We expect to have our next monthly meeting on June 16 at Vino Grille and there may be limited seating, so be sure to RSVP fast as we may reach capacity.
Our Financial Summit that was to be held in April has been rescheduled to July 15 and is still going to be held at Pardini’s. We have been fortunate to keep all our sponsors and speakers for the event, so we hope to fill the room with advisors looking to continue to grow and make new connections.
As we wrap up Fresno’s calendar year in June, we have elected to postpone the Olmstead Award recognition to September. If you have someone in mind that you would like to nominate, please fill out this form by July 17. We are also looking to fill our board for next year. The commitment will be for September 2020-December 2021. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer at some capacity, please contact one of your board members to learn more.
