Every year, at the beginning of the California legislative session, NAIFA-California members gather in Sacramento for our annual Day on the Hill. This year, the gathering will be done virtually! Scroll to the bottom of this page to register, and check out the schedule we have planned for the week of March 22.
New to the event? The Day on the Hill is a time for all NAIFA-California members to get involved with advocacy to protect our industry and clients. The State Legislature makes decisions about the products and services you offer that may dramatically impact you and your clients. Without your participation in the political process, they will be making these decisions in a vacuum. Make your voice heard at the California State Capitol-even if virtually! Learn about current legislative affairs affecting the insurance industry and your business. Visit with your state legislators and let them know how their decisions affect you and your clients!
Monday, March 22nd, 2021 @ 4-5 pm:
NAIFA-California Legislative Briefing
-- Debrief from our State Lobbyist, Shari McHugh of McHugh Koepke & Associates, on our key issues to address with legislators
-- Get expert tips on how to hold an effective meeting to maximize impact
-- Hear from a special, surprise guest with an important message for NAIFA-California members
Tuesday, March 23rd through Thursday, March 25th:
Scheduled Virtual Legislator Meetings
-- Arrive prepared to do you. We just ask you to be yourself-engaged, caring, and a diligent NAIFA member advocating for the industry and on behalf of your clients' best interests. Bring your Main Street stories!
-- NAIFA-California will provide you with talking points and insights on how to host an effective meeting with your local legislator so that our story sticks
-- When you register, you will have the option of scheduling your own meeting, or having NAIFA-California schedule for you!
-- Each virtual meeting with your state legislator(s) will be scheduled for 15-20 minutes
Thursday, March 25th, 2021 @ 4-5 pm:
Day on the Hill Debrief
-- Join all of your fellow attendees for an informational post-mortem from the week’s activities.
-- Hear from our lobbyist and state leaders on our impact and have some fun celebrating your success!
-- All attendees will automatically receive a virtual raffle ticket to be entered into our NAIFA-California PAC Scavenger Hunt! Complete the Scavenger Hunt Challenge List of tasks to increase your chances of winning one of the great prizes listed below:
